Abstract
AYDIN KALANTAROV lived in Azerbaijan until he settled down in California where he studied art at the Bruchion School of Art specializing in the old master's technique of painting. Born in Azerbaijan, educated in Baku and having lived in the U.S. he has been greatly influenced by these three very different cultures. His body of work deals with the concept of challenging what painting is and how the viewer perceive it.
Negotiating the unstable terrain between abstraction and representative, his aim is to creat something modern and new, yet incorporate the old master's technique and knowledge. Aydin's Art work revere and records an immediate and intimate encounter with the rhythms of the natural world, expressing his innermost feelings through the movement of line, color and form.
Aydin believes that among Organic elements, the human figure is a very complex form in constant change encompassing the widest range of knowledge and emotion , hence the best medium of expression...
