Social Commentary
I grew up in New York and attended NYC public schools, where I was exposed to urban life and cultural and racial diversity. I started dancing professionally when I was 16. By the time I was 19, I was a working professional dancer in New York City, and I was fortunate to be able to perform in a few major shows in NYC. Since Dancers are prone to injuries, at the age of 25, I had a severe back injury, and had to change my career. I decided to utilize my talent as a visual artist. I enrolled in the BFA program at Pratt Institute in NYC. After completing my course of study, I became a successful graphic designer and illustrator. As a painter I can illustrate my own voice, and can translate my thoughts and ideas on a canvas while emulating the painters who are my inspiration and at the same time creating my own vision.
