Ileana was born in Managua, Nicaragua. Today She lives with her family in Gaithersburg, MD. At an early age She knew she would become a physician and artist. She is extremely sensitive and passionate about nature, love and human emotions.
Ileana began to paint inspired by Dali, Frida Galo and the Nicaraguan Primitivist painting movement. This movement originated in Solemtiname, a community of artist founded in the 1980's. She has sucessfully represented idealized scenes of community life, the daily lives of the pesants in her native country, as well as other issues of general interest such as: prevention of cancer, HIV/AIDS, and illigal immigration.
