Abstract
E. Ashley Sutton is self-taught artist from Durham, North Carolina. After graduating from high school in 2000, she continued her education at North Carolina A&T State University. While at A&T she majored in Journalism of Mass Communication with a concentration in Broadcast Production. She discovered her artistic talent in 2002 while in college. In 2004, she received a Bachelors of Science degree.
In 2008, she completed a painting course at the Durham Arts Council. At first the class was supposed to be just for fun, but then it later became a serious hobby. She primarily focuses on working with acrylic paint, but plans to explore both oil and watercolor mediums.
From the Artist:
My style varies and can consist of abstract to landscapes. My inspirations come from the beauty in everyday life. Each day I am thinking of something to paint. I listen to live poetry and spoken word on a regular basis for added ideas and inspirations.
