Here and Now

I like to show folks where I have been as an artist as well as where I am going. You will find here some of my earlier works starting with the landscapes from the early 90's and the the abstracted landscapes from late 90's thru the 21st century.
I was doing abstract when I started back in the late 70's and 80's as soon as I can find some of those photos I 'll show where my mind was then.
The works here from the rainy days to the peppers are some of my works. Over the last 6 months most were hanging at Riverside Gallery at its closing. Great gallery it was just its time to end.
Since its closing I have been in studio working on this new series of paintings I had started them in the summer of 2008 and I believe this is the foundation for many years of my work to come.
I am very happy where I am at and also where these paintings are coming from. There are alot of whites and alot of texture influencing these works, I believe its something I can build on for some time. Thats why I started with the circles, I have always felt the circle carries alot of wait in art and from it I can go anywhere. So with alot of study and a slow beginning I think I'll be on my way to something interesting with this series.

"I have the gift of neither the spoken nor the written word, especially if I have to say something about myself or my work. Whoever wants to know something about me -as an artist, the only notable thing- ought to look carefully at my pictures and try and see in them what I am and what I want to do."

Gustav Klimt

My art is a passion for me, Its a god given talent. This is not to say my art is in anyway god like or of his greatness.
God gives us all a talent and a purpose for being here what we make of it is up to us.
My work 90% of the time is abstract, some have meaning some do not
It all has heart, It all is done with passion and I believe it shows in each and every piece
I will soon to be 49 years old, I was born an artist and will die an artist. I may never be a famous artist and I'll never be a rich artist but an artist non the less and thats what really matters in the end.

I guess you could call me a child of the seventies, born in 1960 , by '71-'72 I could see that art was going to
be a fact of my life. There was no fighting it,I was drawing and painting on anything I could. My parents pushed me toward art telling me I had been drawing since I was a little kid of 2 or 3 so when I say I have been doing this all my life I guess its so.
