Landscapes
I regard myself as a figurative - abstract/figurative landscape painter working mainly in oils. I studies art at the West Surrey College of Art, Farnham and Richmond-upon-Thames College, London, England. My background was allied to the fine art engraving publishing area and was the studio manager until going freelance in 2005 to concentrate on painting. I have exhibited widely and most recently in London and New York.
In landscapes I tend to be drawn to motifs which are quite bare and stark and carry a sense of solitude, being drawn to spatial elements to create a mood of reflection and contemplation. Through strong composition I wish the paintings to have their own presence.
