My work is rooted in the soil of classical training but hopes to push up from that into something new. I am inspired by the tension between the sound and motion inside my soul and the physical realities of paint, canvas, paper, fabric. I am steeped in the images and textures of the natural world, the faces of the ones I love and the story I tell myself about my own life as well as the process of creation itself. I hope the paint can hold a tenderness and grace for life but also its playfulness and joy.
