I grew up in New York City, where I currently live and returned to after graduating from Hampshire College in May of 2007. While there I studied Photography, Art History and Creative Writing and had the privilege of spending the Spring of 2006 in Havana, Cuba. A lot of the work on this site is from that trip. The other major work I did while at Hampshire was my senior thesis project, a 100 page artist book about my family's history and a trip I took to visit extended family in Antigua and St. Kitts in the Summer of 2006.
Before Hampshire I attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia HS of Music and Art and the Performing Arts, where I majored in (duh) Visual Arts. As a result of that education I am somewhat of a traditionalist at heart. I like to shoot in film whenever possible, preferably medium format color. I have a bunch of cameras but my favorites are my Lubeitel (a small plastic TLR from the 80s) and my Holga (a simple plastic rangefinder with a plastic lens). In Cuba I shot a lot...
