Oil Painting-
Portraits & Figures
Award-winning portrait artist, Helene Adamson, works in oil, acrylic, and occasionally pastel. Although she paints a variety of subjects, she is most noted for her paintings of people.
In 2010, Adamson created a series of historical portraits using only old black and white archival photos as her source. This group of eight oil portraits is now permanently installed in the Gravenhurst Town Hall.
A member of Muskoka Arts and Crafts, Adamson also served as president from 2002 until 2009. Each year, her work appears in several of the organization's shows. Adamson has been represented by the Auburn Gallery of Fine Art in Gravenhurst where she has had several solo exhibitions. In addition, she is a resident artist and shows her work year-round at the Bohemian Gallery in Bracebridge.
Adamson accepts private portrait commissions, and her paintings have been purchased by clients in Muskoka, as well as in Toronto, New York, and Los Angeles.
