I am an Illustrator. Not to be defined by major or as a significant label, but I describe myself as such, because I believe it to be a title that has the broadest spectrum in the art world. An Illustrator is not restricted by medium to execute their intended narrative. As an Illustrator, the pieces are part of a narrative; stories universalized to transcend language or used to work along with text. A narrative piece to me consists of a figure, or symbol, that exists in a composition that allows the viewer to either move a present story along, or allows the viewer to formulate their own story from the piece before them. They can be surreal, literal, or symbolic so long as they illustrate the story, so long as they are effective tools to bend to the artists concepts and style.
