Abstract
Educated in the fine arts with a background in physical science,Kate began her expressionist works within the media of bronze and printmaking. Realizing this particular media may just break the bank, Kate turned to painting very large thick oils on rough hewn canvas, all the while examining the world and representing her impressions of subject matter through drawing, color and design. As she began working on her canvas, she instinctively added texture and heightened colors through the addition of pastels, wax crayon, and some organic matter.
