ARTIST STATEMENT:
I do clear glass or relief carving, or mosaic sculpture occasionally. MIRROR is definitely my favorite medium. It's like a GLASS canvas on which I can put my DRAWINGS mixed with hand painted color. Its like working a giant jigsaw puzzle backwards. Careful with the cutter the mirror easily shows a mistake. Add lots of shimmer, mixed with bold hand painted color. Add stained glass or multi-dimensional mosaic and the results can take your breath away. Subject matter is anything I can draw. It can range from colorful birds amidst bright foliage to castles with dragons soaring high. My ideas may come from anything, a cracked vase at a flea market, old t-shirt or even a broken tree along the road side. That creative spark becomes a thumbnail often drawn on my table napkin or an envelope in my car. I strive to design Art glass that jump starts your imagination....
