I am a female artist who was born in Kenya and raised in Birmingham in the United Kingdom. The vivid colours of Africa are reflected in my art, I also include jewels and crystals into my work to produce a multi-dimensional effect. I specialize in painting asian bridal portraits in oil on canvas and Islamic calligraphy paintings.

Hello everyone, my name is Gul and I am an asian, female artist. I was born in Kenya, Africa and became a refugee in 1972 with my family. i was brought up in the united kingdom. I started painting at an early age, my family are Mughals, who at one time, used to rule India. My paintings reflect my heritage. I have been told by my religous peers that my paintings are anti-islamic. I dont agree. My so called talent in art is one i was born with, it comes from God, so how can it be wrong?

Hi Gul, Your works are beautiful. They seem to be straight from the heart, gentle, dreamy & meditative. Even the bridal portrait. Nice play on light too. I love blue mosque. |
