Alessandra was born on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia of British and Italian parents.
She moved to South Africa as a teenager, and immediately fell in love with its open spaces,diversity and vibrancy.
Alessandra has been involved in the world of art since a young age.
After graduating in Theatre Arts and Crafts in Pretoria she worked in many different fields including designing sets, puppets and props for theatre and television for over 18 years.
Alessandra draws inspiration for her work from the profound beauty of the people and diverse cultures she encounters on her travels through Africa, Europe and the Far East.
She creates a powerful synergy of realism and intense atmosphere rich in expressive moods.
Her work is characterized by the simplicity of striking visual images.
The paintings are oil on canvas done on large format using clear bold colors.
