Acrylics - Abstract

Two of my paintings were displayed at the Joseph Brant Hospital Artway 2 Gallery in Burlington, Ontario in 2010 for the exhibit entitled 'Caring', with two other artists. One of my works was sold with the proceeds going to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation. I have also sold four pieces to Mexican residents while in Mexico. Art is the synthesis between mind and matter. My art is reactionary and revealing. It aims to place the observer under a state of anxiety through the unfamiliarity of the content. This aims to provoke the observer to create meaning in order to defend their psyche against the alienation derived from the work of art. The reaction to the irreducibility of the artwork reveals the observer's essence, but also one of the many potential essences of the artwork. My work thus aims to show the vulnerability of consciousness in the face of otherness, which leads to show meaning creation as a form of self-defence.
