Portraits & Figures
Figurative art has insired me for decades. I enjoy each opportunity in explore a face, interpret the figure. I was drawn to portraiture by the works of Degas, Manet & Cassatt. Soon after, by the works of Henry O Tanner, Thomas Eakins, Kathe Kollwitz and many others. Their work encouraged me to pursue this genre in earnest. To this day I am an avid people watcher.
It is no surprise (to those that know some of my story) that the zaftig figure preoccupies me in ways that breathe new life into my old pursuit. I look forward to sharing a few postcards from my wanderings into this region of the human landscape.
