2010-05-12 my electronic art:
A personal interactive dialogue between the art work and the participant for demonstrating designated fabric samples using a button switch and lights. Artist is referencing interior design with fabric samples, personal aesthetic with sewing patterns and combining both to express the balance of time in her life between the personal art creations and her time with work in interior design. The interactive button is a physical acknowledgment of the fabric decisions. The work focuses on comparative visual lines between each material. Made with embroidery of electrical wires on collaged paper, fabric and uses an electronic panel. Battery operated. Batteries included.
2010-05-12 my landscapes and still lifes:
I take picture all the time and everywhere I go. You never know what little or big corner of the world can inspire!
2010-05-12 my portraits and drawings:
Every person needs something different and that’s what makes doing portraits fun. From one of your photos I use Photoshop to fix the background, touch up photos and do the proper framing. Once the final photo is accepted by you I then proceed to the actual drawing.
What’s amazing about a drawing is that I can change as many things as you want. I can make anybody look younger, whiten teeth, change someone’s outfit color, or even add someone that wasn’t even there in the first place! And much more.
Right now I’m going through my pastel phase. :P So my drawings are with soft pastels and color pencils. I also experiment with rubbings.
Commissions run around 375$ for portrait with glass, frame and mat.
2010-05-12 Françoise Bernardin
is a multi media artist from Montréal. She experiments with different materials, mixing up traditional technique like quilting with unconventional materials such as wires and found objects. Her favourite materials consist of collage with sewing pattern papers, sewing with embroidery threads on canvas, acrylic paints, pastels on paper, plastic burning, electronics, robotics and then mixing them together. Based on photos she can Photoshop her subject before drawing it in soft pastels and color pencils. She introduces little touches of rubbings or collage in her portraits that makes them special and unique.
